RRRRIIINNNGGG!

Oops, there's the bell. Now, get out your textbooks, it's time for:

Math 101

Today's topic: Baffling Binary

Well,

WARNINGWARNINGWARNING DO NOT READ THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPHS IF YOU WANT TO GET TO THE GOOD STUFF. GO TO THE NEXT THING IN RED LETTERS WARNINGWARNINGWARNING

binary is something people don't understand. Inside your computer it's used a lot. Everything you do on a computer (except perhaps dancing on it) is inputed to the hardware and software through I/O plugs as binary code. If you didn't understand the previous sentence, I suggest you go to Computers 101 as soon as that course pops up.

Binary has 2 numbers, 0 and 1. Any number that's base 10 (our regular numbering system) can be put into base 2 (binary). Isn't that great?

Now,

WARNINGWARNINGWARNING YOU MAY NOW COMMENSE READING, EASILY-BORED-PEOPLE. WARNINGWARNINGWARNING

binary can be put into letters! It's simple! A= 1, B= 10, C= 11, etc. Now, you may be wondering why they are those numbers. if you understood binary, you might know. Let's do a handy chart thing:

16 8 4 2 1

This is how binary numbers are put in. 20 would be:

16 8 4 2 1

11 0 1 0 0

16 + 4= 20

See? Then you have to do a little code:

A= 1 B= 2 C= 3... X= 24 Y= 25 Z= 26

Then you have to translate them into numbers. So it's simple! Now what word is this?

1000 1001

I'l give you a few lines...

2 more...

1 more...

HI! It's hi. If you got that, you pass half the course! Now for a sentence. Spaces between words are "/"s.

1 / 10 10101 111 / 1 10100 101 / 1101 101

Now I'll give you more time.

More than this.

Even more.

A little bit more.

Closer...

Closer...

"A bug ate me" is correct! If you got it, you're right!

Now for one of my stories, guess which one!

1001...

RRRIINNNGG!

Oh. Well that story can wait. You'll find it in Reading 101. Bye! Come back! Um, bye!
